I have a OS.46 FX also and haven't used it yet . I did a search here on Stunt Hanger
and found a lot info on .46FX , just type in in the search section OS .46 FX .

I have an OS 46 F series of engine. Will have to pull it out of the stash and see which one it is. I know it weighs a ton. It will be going into Don Hutchison design I got from Jim Snelson when he had it at VSC. By the way the engine ran great in the plane and was very easy to needle.

I have used one and though it's really heavy,it ran OK.
Problem was the inside of the sleeve started to chip off and then it cracked... One friend had a similar problem, but our engines were used already.
Low pitch and hi RPM...
Please, post your results...
Thanks

This was a common problem with the FX. "Supposedly" the AX line fixed that problem.

It was more of a problem with the SF series. I have a 61SF that had a seriously flaky liner. Still runs ok though, just a little wimpier than before. If I recall correctly they were the last true ABC motors.
All the FX's I've had have had fairly solid plating, but I believe they're ABN.

What is the difference between the FX and the FSR?

Dont use the OS MAx neddle valve assembly. Use a Super tigre needle valve assembly. Youll get a better run and a finer adjustment on the RPMs.
