Me too, I can't stand either one of them.  Finally, the pitchers and catchers have reported for spring training. Their is a God, baseball is coming back. Go Cardinals. H^^ y1 #^

Hey Gil!...Ty doesn't like the sound of aluminum bats and the rules for NASCAR are too complicated for him. Anyway he's more into boat racing.  H^^

I love college baseball, especially on the radio. Late Spring, hanging out in the back yard puttering around, or working in the shop. You can hang on every moment if you wish, or ride the mower and take a break to catch a couple of innings. Listening to a bunch of good guys playing hard and having fun. It helps that my home town team is always a top contender in the fight for Omaha.

I used to follow NASCAR closely. Now, not so much. I was an actual participant in NHRA for a while, until I got married with kid.

Insomnia?  Watch NASCAR.  Guaranteed to put you to sleep.

Want excitement?  Watch NHRA - including tomorrow's Finals from Phoenix, ESPN-2, 8-11 PM Eastern time (adjust your times accordingly)....even though they've "dumbed it down" by going to only 1000' instead of the full 1320' for the nitro classes.  Still...320+ mph in less than four seconds.

(Edited to correct air times.)

I promised me I wouldn't get into this, but I can't help myself.  NHRA - boring.  They only go in a straight line!  NASCAR - better than nothing, but the ultimate for me?  Formula one, or the IRA on street courses.
Ya gotta have power and be able to do more than just steer in a straight line or turn left.
There, I said it, now to hide under the covers away from the attacks. ~^
Baseball, wonderful.  College and high school basketball, the best there is.

Unlimited Hydro Planes, great boat racing, but not much can beat good old fashioned CL combat. y1 #^
No kidding. I got to watch some of our club members fly their combat planes today while us lumbering slow stunters sat in our lawn chairs. Last week I was recruited to help launch one of those things, and I decided right then I'm too old for those planes. Damn things can kill you. He told me when he gave the signal, just drop it. I did, and I shot my ass out of that circle faster than I've ever exited before. I know just from my toy combat Li'l Satan, too much up or a gust of headwind at launch and the plane will do an instant loop and eat the launcher. I've done that and hit my stooge table from behind before. I sure didn't want that ball bearing Nelson screaming around behind my head. I love it from a distance.

Something about a baseball game on the radio while puttering in the shop was always comforting and just feels right. Now if I could just get into the shop mood.

Yep! I agree with the CL Combat...I grew up around Boat Racing. (Miami, Fl.) One of the famous outboard "Tunnel Boats"  U-2 was a front yard resident at the end of my block. I remember my dad telling me that "if you could get one balanced, add control surfaces and propeller propulsion, you could make a "hydo-plane" fly. The R/C Flying Hydro-plane just about proves that.
