If the kit were a full bodied plane,with an inverted engine : I would feel the aluminum mounts a plus.IF they were
on top of the mount and not embedded in the mount.
IMHO, this would allow you more leeway in your fuel tank height adjustment.
it would also allow you to a thicker tank,if you needed more fuel capacity for your engine and could not make
the tank longer due to nose length design.
Obviously,I would in corporate this in any scratch built plane I was constructing.
