Think I may have screwed myself.

Upon doing my wingtips on my Shark 402. I noticed this is ehats left of my leadouts.

Maybe 2" sticking out the tip. I do not believe this is enough to wrap and have enough pull pull. Seriously contemplating removing the tips and leaving as is just so i dont have to cut into the center sheeting.

I have no problems removing the tips. This plane was more or less just a trainer for me I got stupid cheap.

Lesson learned....

Thoughts?

Don't feel alone.  I did this a couple of time until I decided that leadout was not that expensive and learned to leave myself plenty of excess.  I would do exactly what you are thinking about doing before I would tear into the center sheeting.   I built a plane one time and sheeted over the center before I realized I had not put a bellcrank into the stupid wing.  Crap happens.

Don't know if it's legal, but I'd just cut them shorter and join on another piece mid panel of the wing to extend them.

I have splice lead outs in side the wing with more than enough material to finish the lead out.   Slide some shrink tubing over the splice and make sure it doesn't hang up on a rib.   H^^

Glue the tips back on as you've ruined the looks of the plane. LL~ LL~

Change the leadouts at the BC. Maybe you can get enough BC travel to access each end of the BC without tearing up the center sheeting. Then put the tips back on. Square tips (like a Skyray 35) are inefficient and a disgrace to humanity. Hey, shouldn't you be changing chitty diapers about now?  ;) Steve
