If you had to have only one plane, what would it be?
I think mine would have to ba an Ares. ;)

i have a plane that makes the hair on my arms stand up just before the pit crew fires it up a lay down sidewinder d speed. this is a mans plane for a mans event the most phisical of all ama's events.

USA-1 or similar. Maybe a Geo-XL or Junar. Best flying plane I've ever built.

Most likely one that I can get into all three events, something like a Barnstormer, Viking or Jamison - even possibly a Smoothie. That way you can get three events for the one airplane and six flights at a contest instead of just two! However, if you expect to do well in classic or PAMPA events then you might want something like a USA-1, Gypsy ect.

Back to the fun and simple days of when I would get to fly my Scientific American Boy in the back yard with OK Cub .049A. Several quarts of fuel went thru that combination. DOC Holliday

Good question. I'd have to say the PatternMaster for me. I've now built a "China Doll", an "SV12" and a "PatternMaster" based United since I've been back in the hobby since 1991/92 and the PatteernMaster flys like a big overgrown Nobler. I'm sorry I never built one earlier. It is one of the easiest airplanes to fly and it grooves like it's on rails. It's all up to the pilot and the judges once your in the center of the circle.

after several days consideration i would go with the plane i got. it's a legacy. my third one and each has been modified to more suit the way i like to fly. my newest is ready for clear and has a supertigre .51 bolted in the nose.
yup......i'd pick my own plane.
i'm proud of it too. so here is a picture of the plane i'd pick if i could have only one.

I would think hard about a Southwick skylark. The real one, 56.5 span not the cheesy little Sterling imposter. Classic legal, pretty modern airfoil, adequate for up to upper advanced. Decent in the wind with enough power.
My fourth one is getting close to installing wing. Power on this one will be a STG51.

Oops .....don't know how I forgot this one, "LACE MAKER"...still one of my favorites an awsome ship even by todays standards, the finish on this model is UNREAL!! ;)
Anyone know if there ever was a Plan of this beauty???

Man, it's been ofrever since I've been able to bring anythingto fly at the TGD site. I'm still in the throes of building our house and it *will* have a circle. I have am ARF Cardinal and an ARF Tutor II to assemble, and I still need to figure out a relaibel way of getting some weight to stay on the tail of my Oriental. We shoul be able to move in about 6 weeks and I have a personal goal of making the TGD fall contest my first official entry into stunt. We'll see...
As for which plane I'd choose (gotta keep something relevant to the thread)... Hmmm. I sure like the look of a Nobler. I s'pose that's probably what I'd settle with. Fortunately, I'm not quite in that boat, yet. :)

The "Lacemaker" is featured in the middle pages of Stunt News March/April '99.

I know it might sound self serving, but the J.D.Falcon is the best flying airplane I have ever had. It goes where you point it, turns on a dime, and stops immediately when you neutralize. With the RoJett .40 it has been flown in horrible conditions, and just plain does it.

Does it count that these are three variations on one theme?
All to be powered with a Fox .35 or a Max-S .35 for the castor residue. I love the smell of castor in the morning! Now, where did I put all those Rev-Up 10x6's?
