Post by: Shultzie on June 18, 2007, 10:32:50 AM
It has always amazed me just how much a really attractive paint scheme can make an outstanding model into a work of art.....To this ol' grunt!!! THIS IS AN OUTSTANDING EFFORT!

I think I can identify John Simpson's finger prints on that piece of artwork!

Not only is the model everything that has already been mentioned, John Simpson is a really nice guy.  I met him in Memphis last lear and he is a first class fellow.  Look forward to flying with him and against him this year.  I'm gonna beat you this year John.

Don,

John has been working on that particular paint scheme since his return to flying C/L Stunt in about 1992-3.
That is the culmination of a lot of work and getting things right.  That particular scheme looks like a pro
cycle painter did it, but I know John, he doesn't cycle, but has really learned how to make his airplanes look
very impressive!  I  need to go flying in his field again as long as wind is blowing and from the west as well!

Looking at that gorgeous airplane, that paint scheme is not all that simple.  I see a lot masking being done to get it right.  Have fun,  DOC Holliday
