None of the pictures posted would really look all that bad in our locale, certainly not newsworthy. At least there aren't any salmon swimming across the pavement, like often happens on some of our roads during floods. Randy and Howard have to fight the bears for salmon fishing rights in their driveways when it gets more than medium wet.  H^^ Steve

I'll bet the swamp was caused by the "movie people" the last time they were there.  I saw it first hand.  Same old story.  Yea,  they will fix it before they leave. Just like FEMA did after Katrina.  Do I sound iritated???  Glad I don't have to put up with the politics anymore.   And I have the title to the Golden Gate bridge.!!!!!!!!!!

I see mayor Nagin was indicted today.
Who would have thought ... the great state of Louisiana with corrupt politics .... Maybe Nagin took the money to repair the field.

Good one Frank, but the city doesn't appropriate funds for the park (1200 acres).  Last I heard, they were on their own to generate funds from such things as the golf courses, kiddy land and chargwes to hold the Mardi Gras Marathon and such.  The mess you see was made by people making a movie newby and they used our field for a dam..... parking lot.  I accidently went to fly one day and saw it all.  Got in a few by was lucky that I didn't drive 40 miles for nothing.
End Rant     Sorry, but now I feel better

Mike, Not to gloat but this is a picture of our flying field in Tucson today Sunday, January 20th...taken around 1:PM after everyone had quit flying and left.
We've had unseasonably cold weather for the past couple of weeks but thankfully that's over at least for now.

73 degrees and sunny with very light winds (less than 2 mph)...According to the long range forecast this is supposed to hold through next weekend which is the Southwest Regional Control Line Championships.  Ya'll Come.

Great flying today...except for getting my head right.

Actually Mike, there's a lake just behind where I was standing to take this photo.  Fortunately the water is not on the flying field.  The lake is for model boats.  The boat guys race there every month.

Not only is there a boat pond, but a lake for recreation purposes and further to Randy's right is the river.
