Well I just could not help myself. Today we hit 61, winds were lite.
I broke out the Flite Streak and put up a few flites. GH .35 thumped right along.
I think I need shorter lines. 57footers had a little sag in them.
I will cut them back to 53.

I think its horrible that you can fly, its been 20 to 35 here for several weeks, rain and snow, and , and, oh heck, if you can fly go for it,, more power to ya, I will build instead. Might try going shorter a foot at a time.

We have been fighting terrrrrible weather here in at the Central Alabama Stunt Squadron Headquarters----
60's to mid 70's with winds mostly 5 to 10 mph---it's tough, but we keep plodding along!!!

Come to Clanton and fly with us on Dec. 22-------------

It's been rough in the Portland Or area too.  We can't get in more than three days a week of flying and with the sun covered up with clouds having to not wear sun glasses is hard also.  Just put in a flight this noon with a stock .25 LA powered Twister on my personal "COW PIE AIRPORT".  You just have to watch your step on the way out to the handle.  The Twister will not be my contest plane next year for sure.  Sorry it has been too cold for you Mark.  Hope the wind comes up a little here so as to get some real time repetition and practice in the kind of weather that will most likely be during the local contests.

Hi Paul, to answer your question (since no one else has!), I think something is wrong if you need to go down to 53' lines on a GH 35 powered Flite Streak.  I have never flown one on lines even as short as 57' eye to eye.  And that was with a 25.  I would expect lap times easily in the sub 4 second range  on 53 foot eye to eye lines!  A Flite Streak normally flies around 4.8-5.0 on 60' eye to eye in my experience.

The plane seem to fly OK, I just almost lost it in the over head. The engine was set around 8000 rpm with a 10x5 prop. It seem to me that the run was OK. It would seem to lose power tho when I put a load on the engine. Say doing a loop or wing over.
Maybe cut off a little at a time.

Do you have any engine offset?
Also, those Greenheads didn't mind a wet two setting.  You might want to lean it out a click or two.

Hi Paul,

8000 with a 10-5 is just not turning up enough, especially for a Green Head 35.  You need a 10-6 (true pitch) or more to run at that setting.  A Green Head is not happy trying to 4 stroke, closer to 9000 would be advisable with a 10-5.  Then the 57' or even longer would be fine.  Last time I tached a Fox 35 it was turning 8800-9000 with a 10-6 (not sure of true pitch, probably closer to "5") and that gave good airspeed for the plane to fly.

Cutting the line length does not increase the model's actual airspeed.  And airspeed is the problem you are having, I would bet on it.

I was only talking about flying stunts with one! LOL!!  I have flown the Flite Streak in the lower-mid 3 sec. range, but not for strunting!

Heck, I put a pattern on my USA-1 one day at 4.25!  A *little* too quick for my taste!

We Have had many fantastic days here the last two weeks in the Charlotte NC area. Mid 70's even low 80's and our field is closed till Feb or March. It's cooled of some  but it still is getting to low 50's and calm. I am working on a Tempest 40. Yes  Randy Smith has plans for the Tempest 40. Same size as Vector 40

Try that first, then maybe a 10-6 like Bill suggests.  A good fuel mix for a Fox 35 would work just fine for your Torpedo.  If you are using 5% nitro go to 10%.
