I could use some help please. I have a gallon of Omega 10% nitro fuel with caster/synthetic blend. I was told it is 18% caster/synthetic mix lubricant. If this is true, how many ounces of caster do I need to add to run an old Fox & Johnson 35? Thank you

1.28 oz. of castor oil will bring the oil content up 1%. A Fox needs 25% to 28% oil. I use 27% oil in my Fox engines and they are happy.

If these engines have been run a lot on all Castor fuel trying to run them on a synthetic Castor mix will soften the Castor varnish and cause them to seize. Ask me how I know! I run all my newer engines, Brodak, OS, Double Stars on Omega 10 containing 8 oz of Castor. Morgan measures their oil content by weight, and according to my calculations and an actual experiment that Randy Smith told me about this should give a total oil content of 20-22% oil, half Castor and half synthetic.

Here's a great site, scroll down to "ADD OIL ONLY" and follow the instructions. I add 14 oz. of castor for all my old engines.

I just made up a gallon of this same fuel, it's actually 17% oil, but only about 5% of it is castor oil. According to my calculations it needed 14ozs. of Klotz castor to up the content to 28%. I had to mix it in two bottles. Turned out fine, fox seems to run fine on it.

I add 4 ounces of castor to Omega and run it in my old motors like the Fox and have no problems and I have good runs. I stopped running all that castor years ago and have had no problems. The miliage goes up and the mess goes down. I run it in my Rustler motors at 10,500 rpm and they don't have a bushing for the crank.
