Well, I was going to hold off but what the heck. Plane is a Randy Smith "Olympian". Sort of what happens when an SV-11 gets too friendly with an Olympic. Power is a Ro-Jett cast case .61. All up weight so far is 54 ounces. Hope to have it ready for the latter part of the contest season. 8)

Looks like you were using grey primer and sanding it off. What was under the primer-paper,bare wood?
-
Let's see...bare wood, 3 coats clear, 2 clear with zinc-sterate, sand in between. 1/2 ounce fiberglass on cowl, wheel pants, front end to back of canopy. Light silkspan over entire airplane. OhhhhK, 1 coat clear (brush), 2 clear w/ZS (spray), one coat 50% lite-coat plus grey and white and ZS, sprayed. Sand, mount pilot and canopy, assemble to confirm fit, take picture.
Brings us up to the present. Still to go: more grey/white,ZS primer and sanding. Final white dope over all, add red and trim colors, then lots of clear, sanding and polishing. Nothing to it! Final paint scheme will look something like this. 8)

Looks pretty cool, Pete. Looks like it should come in under 60 oz easy. Is that RO jett a new one or the one out of the Blue Buck? Also, what are the sq.in. of this airplane?
Nice pilot figure too. (and as you know I'm not into those)

Hey Clint...it's an SV-11 wing so 670"sq. Ro-Jett is one that I have had for awhile. Traded a 40VF plus $$ for it. Your turn to post pics of your Legacy build. FWIW: Things on track for middle of June, you know what I mean. 8)
