OLD VHSC Video Tapes of the World Championships 2004
« on: July 28, 2017, 02:13:49 PM »
I have in my possession four (4) old VHSC (Compact VHS) video tapes that I believe I was sent to convert to digital many years back. Unfortunately I do not have any way to load the VHSC cassettes into my VHS to convert them. I would like to send them back to the original owner or someone who can transfer to a digitl format. They are labeled (1) AMA Museum / World Champs Stunt Practice 2004, (2) World Championships Practice / Combat TR 2004, (3) World Championships Stunt / Team Race / Combat 2004 Muncie, Finals World Championships 2004. I found these after a move back to Florida today. I cannot vouch for the integrity of the video on these tapes as I cannot view them but they have been stored properly and are in their original cases.

Please let me know if you are the author of these video tapes or are capable of putting them on the digital realm. I can convert 8mm and High 8mm, and VHS tapes but have no capability to read VHSC tape cassettes.

These tapes may have been shot by someone no longer with us, I do not know. But it is irreplaceable footage that should be archived. If no one lays claim then I will see if I can purchase an adapter and upload onto YouTube. You see, many years back I sent a reel of 8mm movie footage of Gene Schaffer and Bob Lampione practicing at FMP back in the early 70's with their top stunters at the time. Included was a bunch of footage of my dads designs (one the made the Flying Models Barnstormer section, A model of the B58 Hustler bomber Yes it Did Fly!!!) as well as a lot of action at FMP. Alas that footage was lost by the person I sent it to. So I do not want to make the same mistake, I will not make the same mistake. Someone please lay claim to this footage. But if no one lays claim, I will make sure it is put up on the digital domain.

I have a VHSC adapter, which is a standard size VHS cassette that the compact cassette drops into. I can lend it to you if you want to give it a try. But there must be digital conversion services that can handle the compact cassettes directly. Let me know if you would like to borrow the adapter.

Those look like the ones I sent. If I remember correctly you were going to make some sort of Control-Line promotion video and asked for loans of video for possible use in the project. I'd love to get them back. If you want to put them in the digital domain that would be fine.

Hi Elwyn, let me see what a adapter runs on the bay, if not too costly I'll convert and put on Youtube. If not I will return to you forthwith. Please PM me your address so I have it so I can send them back to you in either case. I believe that at the time I was not aware that your tapes would be on VHSC which I could not playback and forgot I had them till I ran across them this week.

Hi Mike, I will look on the bay or on amazon for one, it would probably be almost as much to ship to and from as it would to buy one of these. Thank you for the offer. Will let you know if I need to borrow the item.
