I payed a visit to Roger Wildman today and he got out his old picture album. I brought home a few pictures to share with you all, enjoy.

Picture #2: Does anyone know this young man, Roger said he won junior at the 1952 Nats at Los Alamitos Naval airstation.

ROGER IS TRULY AN ICON....WOW!
Truly a gifted CLPA builder and an amazingly gifted flyer! I have a bunch of slides that I have taken of Roger's models somewhere in my boxes of old photos..

Great pictures, but how about one when Roger was a skinny kid. LL~ LL~  Roger is one of my heroes of my younger days when I used to be a skinny kid.    H^^

I will ask Dad if he knows. My uncle Charles was 2nd in Junior that year I think.

I have a Original Trophy  from that same Contest, It says First Place Control Line B Speed. We plan to reuse it for a perpetual trophy at the Huntersville Contest . Guess it is one of the many that are in the big Banquet picture .

Looks like it was a really big deal in it's time

Another kid in the woods.   The Plymouth Internats used to be one of the biggest contests in the USA. H^^   I guess the kids would not know what a Plymouth is.    LL~ LL~

I had two Plymouth's. A 1968 Roadrunner coup,383 and a 1968 Roadrunner hardtop,Hemi. Both four speeds.
 I had several friends who went to the Plymouth Nats but" I was to young to go anywhere with those guys" my mother said. Z@@ZZZ
 In 1954 I went to the Mirror Meet with those same guys.

Plymouth and Desoto were both Chrysler products.  Oldsmobile was General Motors.

doc. if thats a "halfast" , and it looks like ir is .   i dont think it exiisted in  1952 also oldsmobile is GM. sprakin of old cars. dennis schauer  had an air cooled frankllin touring car, i forgot what year. so tacky it was cool!!!! another friend had a crosley sdation wagon. it would only hold 1/2 a size planes :(
