April 1, Friday 2022. Old engine run and show and tell at Reeves field. Bring your old engines and run them! Fly your controline airplanes. Show off your old stuff. (and sell it.)

Hi Larry,

Google the Blue Whale of Catoosa. ( It will show up on Wikipedia) It is a famous roadside attraction on Route 66.

We had the Old engine running and show and tell today. This was the first one , so the turnout was sparse. This is normal; most of the time the, first time you run something new, the turnout is sparse.

Next year, it will start at noon, and there will be a lot of emphasis on show and tell. This was setup to give the out of towners something to do on the day before the swap meet.

Mark McRiley flew a replica c/l Jim Walker 74 glider powered by a Cox .020.
Joe Gilbert flew the old faithful Ringmaster powered by a Brodak .25.
Jim Lee flew his Go Devil powered by an Atwood Super Champ.
The Atwood was bedeviled by strange running hiccups. It eventually spit off the spinner,
and prop during a running low rpm landing.

10 days ago, Bob Reeves asked me to gather up and sell a few controline things out of his shop.
Bob was a master of understatement in this case!  Since there weren't many people out at the engine running, the Gluedobbers went to Bob's shop to gather up the controline stuff. If this is a small amount of stuff, I would hate to see a large amount of stuff!

I have maybe 40 % of his stuff in my minivan; I will try to sell it at the swap meet tomorrow. There must be a couple of hundred props there and a bunch of engines. (modern stunt engines)

It seemed wrong being in his shop picking up his stuff to sell.

Elwyn and I will be at the swap meet site (the Catoosa Community Center) at about 7:30.

I hope some guys come by to buy this stuff; we didn't even have time to price it.

I wish that Bob hadn't left us.
