Has anyone heard from any of our modeling friends in the Oklahoma City area, Hope they are all OK with all the tornadoes and bad storms in the area. If you hear please post so we know. Prayers go out to any one who was hit with this terrible disaster.

I exchanged messages with Walter Weatherford ("hothandle" on this forum) from the Tulsa area and things OK there but no contact with OK City area.
My prayers are with those folks!

I have a list of the OKC controline flyers. I called 6 of them, and only got ahold of Gary Potter and Mike Finnegan; they are alright. The other four calls I made only resulted in rapid beeps on the telephone. I hope those guys are ok.

Sure hope everyone is ok.
Be nice for the guys to check in.

Part of the communication problems that I had could be that the telephone land lines and cellphone towers have been taken down by the toronado. Gary Potter mentioned that the remaining land lines and cellphone towers could be overloaded with the calls coming in from out of town and out of state.

Anxiously awaiting any news from OKC friends. Am watching TV News now. Terrible damage.
I've been thru that I-44 corridor several times in the Spring and Summer. Scary place!

Thanks for checking on them De, I figured you were the closest and would know. I appreciate it. Hope none of this heads your way. Thoughts and prayers are with everyone in the area.

I've seen the TV reports and the devastation is incredible, as much as it is sad...
The vídeo of that F4 really scared me...
My prayers are with those who right now have only the Lord to confort them...
The report about the school made my eyes water...

Yes, Oklahoma is part of Tornado alley. After seeing the destruction of Greensburg KS and Joplin MO, I can only imagine the destruction in Oklahoma. I pray for all the people in the area. Thinking of the school children and what a way to end the school year. Tornados are very dangerous even when you know about them on the ground. Closest I have been to one was two city blocks and could not see it for the rain. Had to stop the car as it was raining so hard we could not see the front of the hood. Lucky as there was no hail. If I read right this is the second time for the town.
Well my daughter gets upset at me when we were having the tornado alerts/warnings. I told her the time to worry is when you see it.

I cannot imagine the scope of a half mile wide twister! That is so scary and so sad. When I was in Norman, OK in the Navy I wondered why they had those storm shelters every 300 yards or so on the base. I'm so blessed that I never found out first hand. (They closed that base shortly after I graduated.)
Now that I live in northwest Ohio, I wouldn't mind some storm shelters here!

I've got family right in the path. Haven't been able to contact any of them yet, but did hear from my brother that he was able to get ahold of one cousin that lives in El Reno. He's hoping to find the others soon. I'm pretty worried about the rest.

I finally was able to contact my brother who lives in Choctaw. Hail the size of grapefruit literally shredded all the shingles from the roof of his house, destroyed his work shed, and seriously damaged his families cars. He said his yard looks like a battlefield. Through the grace of God no one in his neighborhood was seriously hurt or killed. Phone service in that area is still spotty. Ed.
