OKIE PRODUCTS
« on: February 13, 2023, 10:27:15 AM »
Does anyone know about the OKIE situation?
I made a purchase on December 19 and I have not had any response, only an email that tells me that they will send it soon, but nothing more than that.
Do you think I already lost my money?

I think things have gotten much better with Okie Air.  I placed several orders and they were shipped pretty quick.  I know others have and he shipped right away too.

I took a chance and placed an order for a few things last Wednesday.  It shipped Sunday/today and according to USPS is due to be in my hands this Thursday.  If all goes well, that's about a week from start to finish.  Not bad.

I have spoken with Russel several times.  He is/was having supplier problems with hardware for controls and time issues with things that he had to make.  Hopefully those issues are in the past.  My suggestion is to order inventory items and fabricated items on separate orders so that you don't have to wait for things that are in stock.

I'm surprised that you're not suggesting for everyone to learn how to make them themselves........

Be kind and patient to  those that provide specialty parts, lest we will have to make our own.

If you cannot wait for others to make them for you then you should.  At a minimum you will find the prices they charge quite reasonable after making a full control set by hand.  Someday you may have no choice but lets hope that day never comes.  It is a hobby and some folks, myself included get a kick out of making parts.  Others don't.

I'm in complete agreement with Kevin and Ken.  Be patient with Russell or order well ahead of time.  I make all my own tanks, not because I like tank making but because the stuff that is commercially available isn't very good.  I'd hate to have to do that for lines and everything else.  And so far, I've been unable to grow my own balsawood.  So, what's a fella to do?   ;D

Today I received my order from Okie Air
When I have reached out to Mr. Honea he has responded (calls, texts, or email).
I sense he is swamped but doing his best to service our community.
