Fellow's where are y'all getting your castor and klotz oil to add to your fuel? I priced some today and it was close to 75.00 for one gallon of each. Talk about "sticker shock" WOW.. Can any one help?
Thanks, and Happy New year

Castor oil is available from Sig. $23.00/gallon. Fox no longer carries it. Sig has synthetic also.
-
Try a motorcycle shop. You should be able to get both in quarts there.
-
McMaster-Carr has castor oil. It works if Sig's out.

Where is a good place to find Klotz by the gallon. Not many places stock it.

Go-Kart shops...or Tower Hobby. H^^ Steve

Last time I needed synthetic oil, I got Ucon LB-625 from Randy Ritch. It was about $20 per gallon, but cost an arm and a leg to ship. You are handy to his place, so it may not cost you much. You can add your own dye if you want Klotz.

SIG is the only place I found Klotz in Gallons. The oil is reasonable the stinkin' shipping is not...haz mat charges are outrageous.

I agree on the hazmat charges. They are going to ruin buying anything you have to have shipped anymore. I just got rwo quarts of dope from Wicks aircraft, and the charge to get it here was $19.75. Of course, at the price of gas it costs about the same to buy it locally which is about 40 miles away.

Jim I've been getting gallons of dope and retarder from Aircraft Spruce via UPS- no hazmat. Castor in pints from Sig- no hazmat.

What state is Randy Rich in ? I was buying cases direct from Klotz but would like to cut down on Hazmat and shipping if possible.
-
As I've seen in ads in various places there is no hazmat on quart sizes of oil, fuel or other things the PC patrol does not like. Really check around and find a good motorcycle shop that also does racing. Also there are the automobile racing shops/garages.

Hey Dave, now that I think about it it might not have been hazmat charge. The only thing I got was an invoice that showed $19.75 shipping charges. I checked with Spruce Specialty, and it was $15.10. Seems like an awful lot for just shipping. It probably would not be much more if I got it in gallons, but I don't use that much anymore.
