What a nice day Roberta and I had at this years KOI.
I hooked up with some old friends and made a few new ones.
Mike Waldron is a very impressive flyer and lacks nothing in his flights. I have seen him fly at other contests but this was the first time I actually judged him. He's a top level competitor and I would be curious how well he could do against the best Nats guys.
Rick Huff was another standout with a super neat twin electric plane. Superbly built and very well flown he had blazing corners flying in a beautifully presented pattern.
Actually all the experts showed well and it was my pleasure to enjoy some good, solid proper size maneuvers with only the usual details separating the final order. Gene Martine had a really nice Tempest, Gerry Glier was flying one of Perdomos creations and Dixon had what seemed to be one of his typical mongrel/combo :) planes that flew very well.

I see people my age out there climbing mountains and zip lining and here I am feeling good about myself because I got my leg through my underwear without losing my balance
