Masks Etc.
« on: December 15, 2010, 05:39:52 PM »
Just want to let everyone know that I now have a vinyl cutter and can do custom work for low tack spray masks, or color stick on vinyl. For lettering any truetype font can be used. Military lettering is also available. I would be glad to work with you.

The photo shows a custom drawn "flying fist" that is now on the "Sea Vixen" that I have finally got back to aft the disastrous self-splitting of silkspan last year.

I was going to offer to sell you our old "Lonesome Polecat" mask at a rock-bottom price, but I see you are ref'ing to a different sort of mask.

There's a bunch o' them vinyl cutters showing up in the Pacific NW. Should make things interesting at NW Regionals, with all the fancy new planes.  H^^ Steve

Glad to know this Tom. I will contact you when I need some stickers. I am currently cutting out some parts for a Sting Ray. I will need some lettering for this plane. I will let you know when.

Whatever happened to your Hobo? I got mine covered. And it was a disaster. The outboard wing got a roll in it, the stab/elevator came out crooked, and so forth. I studied it for a while then one Monday the trash man was coming. I took the landing gear off of it and headed out to the street. The truck operator said; "Didn't come out right did it." "Nope." was my answer. It was going to require a total disassembly and rebuild. I decided that it would be better to just scrap it and build from scratch again. I was greatly disappointed. I have never just thrown away a new build. But I have decided that I have way too many other planes to research and build to get hung up on just one design. I may try and build another one later next year. Have you, or Dave Russum flown your proto types?

Jerry,
I almost brought the Hobo to the Christmas party. It will take about 2 hours work to get it in the air.
Dave's is not quite finished yet. Bill Hummel's is ready to fly, just needs better weather.  There is another one in Oregon that is close.
When the 4 prototypes are flying the inputs will be used for an article, and then we will make it all public, with a kit to follow.

I gave a graphics demo at the party, but I guess you missed it.
