I just returned from the "Nats" planing meeting. C/L Scale, July 12th-14th, all other C/L events are July 15th-20th, 2013.

I guess e-mail + phone calls + dedicated, in person support does make a difference!

I think if you were not there to represent our side, it may have turned out different. It is much harder to ignore someone standing in front of you, than it is to dismiss a bunch of e-mail.

Mike; R/C scale aerobatics got the first week, J U N E 25th-28th. Then R/C soaring got the short straw, June 29th- July 6th. over the 4th weekend.

In truth, the schedule was already set before the meeting started, so my being there was just a formality. I don't know when they set the Nats schedule, but maybe all the emails they received might have made a different.

Let me clear some miss information on the IRCHA matter. Dave Mathewson, Joyce Hagar, and Dave Guerin had no input in this issue. It was all the vote of the AMA EC. Dave, Joyce, and Dave took some heat for something not of their doing. Maybe an email to them for a job well done might be in order. As the saying goes; "the tallest trees in the forest catch the most wind". So, C/L has the best week of the "Nats" be very thankful for that.

Brenda Schuette, Dave Fitzgerald, and I well get togather on what took place today and I'm sure Dave will take it from there.
I'm tired, I'm done for today, and I'm going to my big screen tv for some ND football. Good night all.

Joyce and sent her some info that David had given me. As it was presented to
me I really did not beleive we had a chance to get the dates we desired. I will
now make plans to be there next year and look forward to thanking you and the

It is just like you to say that you had nothing to do with the great scale dates. Your proximity to, and your ability to speak directly with, the AMA headquarters no doubt helped with our common complaint. I hope that the rest of the scale community realizes just how well represented we are with your involvement. I am positive that the uproar from the rest of the control line bunch had an impact also. It shows what a wonderful communication tool (the internet) we have today. Back in the 50's when I first joined, we would have had to just show up whenever the selected date was. We would not have been able to impact the selection of the dates at all. Times have changed. Good job by all.

Paul, I did watch Ball State (they won), and ND (they won), and some NASCAR (Jeff Gordon did not win) all that some night. I think the battery's need to be changed in the remote.

When all this started I send an email over to Joyce Hager and Dave Mathewson.

I received a reply from Joyce within an hour about the process. And a couple of days later from Dave with more information concerning the process.

I have sent them both emails THANKING them for their time and sharing of information along with forwarding our conrcerns to those who needed to hear it.

I was told by a man about 40 years ago that this is a country of minority rule... No this was not a racial statement. He meant that a small group who raise there voices will generally get attention.

We made noise and got their attention!

Just curious, did the dates for the helicopter group change or were they turned down?

Doug, that was also my experience, and I felt it necessary to send return thanks to Dave & Joyce as well. That's part of the process of being heard not only now, but the next time also. They know we appreciate their efforts.
