Title: Off Topic Pushrod Question
Post by: Henry McClusky on January 11, 2019, 03:41:30 PM
This is a bit off the mark but I'm looking for some help.

I'm building a scratch build model rocket of my own design.  It has a removable cargo bay that is stabilized by (3) small strut rods.  I'm thinking that perhaps some sort of pushrod from a CL or RC plane would work well for this.

Who is a good vendor for these small clevises and threaded rods?

Thanks.

You can get 2-56 or 4-40 threaded rod and clevises from any of the online dealers or most local hobby shops if there are still any in your area.  As far as online, I like A Main hobbies: https://www.amainhobbies.com/ or Tower Hobbies.

Henry,

Start by looking at DuBro

     https://www.dubro.com/collections/all

And Sullivan

     http://sullivanproducts.com/

There are various grades, weights and strengths of these components. Some are engineering plastics (strong), and some are steel.

Central Hobbies in Billings, MT has what you want. Clevises, CF tubes, Titanium rod ends, epoxy, etc. One stop shopping and good service from my experience.  https://www.centralhobbies.com (https://www.centralhobbies.com)   y1 Steve
