Off subject of a great new WW1novel
« on: January 06, 2020, 12:22:47 PM »
Two years ago I published a fairly popular WW1 novel based on my father's story. It covers the reasons why his family had to immigrate to the U.S. and his WW1 flying experiences. This novel is 90% true, with minor changes of minor events in his life.  Check out the classified section for more information.

Joe,
It is a great read! I really enjoyed the book. It did cause my eyes to leak at times.
This is a prime example of how immigrants once wanted to assimilate into society and become citizens in the worst way. They did not want to create their previous homeland in the USA. We are a country if immigrants and they made this country great!
Today we have too many immigrants and asylum seekers who do not want to become part of our society, they seem to want to convert the USA into the cesspool that they left to come here. If their old homeland was so good why did they come to the USA?

Good job Joe,  Pat

Thanks Pat! Your review just points out how important it was that people worked their buns off to be U.S. citizens.  My dad went through hell to be able to vote in every election that was held for the rest of his life.  His combat problems aside he always thought that being a citizen was a privilege. It was a 50 year effort to write just a part of his life. He and men like him are what made America really something special. Every week I see immigrants in this area, most of them remind me of my dad. They  are working to keep this Country where it was intended to go.  I had the audio tapes my dad made about his life, and it has been a pleasure to pass on his memories, as well as the memories of many others of my youth. On top of all that, the book as you mention is a truly good read for anyone interested in WW1 air combat!

Just finished reading Joe's book last night before turning off the bed room light.  To me it was a great read to see how a young mother and her two sons made it.   Even back then there was prejudice and it was great to read how it was over come in a way.  Too bad we all can't get along.  Thank You Joe for letting us know a little of your relatives.
