Title: Ode to Stunt
Post by: Zuriel Armstrong on July 28, 2013, 02:10:48 PM
I have always wanted to build a plane and fly open at the Nats.  I love the competition and the airplanes that are presented for judging and judged.
One day I will make it to the Nats, but until then, the following if for those that do or also long to do the same.

What keeps a man from winning
As he scribes across the sky.
Appearance points, an engine run
I can't help but wonder why.

Sometimes my rounds are doughnuts,
Sometimes they're chicken eggs.
Sometimes my squares are tilted
Or  they have unequal legs.

Sometimes the exit varies,
Or the level flight is fudged.
But still we enter contests,
To have our patterns judged.

Reminds me of the time I asked Jim Armor to view my pattern and critique it.  His comment when I got down was: "when you get your sizes, intersections, bottoms and shapes, you may have something!"  HB~>  LL~ LL~ LL~  Sadly, he was right on the money.  :'(

All of the preceding is true.    I was never a poet or a writer.   I am still having fun flying my pattern the judges wonder about.

Oh "Zen Master" so this is why you tell me the same when I ask your opinion on my flight.  I understand, Karma!   HB~> HB~> HB~>
