I know this is an odd request, but I was in our local community closet and picked up a road race set for my grandson. It was only five bucks and had lots of track, etc. Everything works great but it only has one car. LOL Hard to race with one car. It is an HO scale race set and I was wondering if anyone out there would happen to have an old car from there misspent youth that they wouldn't mind parting with. If you do I would be willing to pay for shipping, cost, etc. I checked the hobby shop in Edmonton (via the net) and they have HO cars but they are worth a fortune nowadays! And I don't want to waste my time with Ebay either. So if you can help, drop me a line. Thanks H^^

Somewhere, I have about 4-5 cars (including a coveted G-plus, so fast you can't even see it most of the time) and a bunch of track. I think my brother has it all, so I will check and get a few cars out of the set. If I can find them, you are welcome to them, with one proviso- you guys have to use them, you can't sell them on eBay!

all the time. The Tyco 440 chassis seem to be the best for kids to play with and great for beginners.
Here is a completed listing list so you could get an idea on pricing. >>>>>>>>>

I don't know if they have slot car show's in your neck of the woods but you could find some great buys there as well.

I really miss the slot cars of the late 60Ty's. I had a car, anglewinder 29-29 torp armature and redball magnets that was so fast you could hardly keep up. 1/24 scale. We had a high bank oval in the shopping center where my dads hobby shop was and we would race there everyday. The pileups were amazing.
Drinking Vess soda and listening to KFWB.98 (before it was all news) Jan & Dean, Beach boys etc..
Great memory's!
After some research I nailed the year down. After the KFWB format changed to News in March 1968 So it was pre 1968

HI Robert,
I was surprised when I dug a big box out in my basement a few months ago. It was all my slot stuff from back in the day! I didn't know I had it. H/O and a ton of Strombecker in 1/32nd and 1/24th scales. The first Strombecker track set dated from 1962 at Christmas. A D Jag and a Testarossa. Still have the '62 Fords and Pontiacs! LOL!! Plus a few others including a couple "scratch builts".
I have always wanted an AMT "Turnpike" set.

Its nice to hear these old slot car stories...keep em coming. I looked on youtube and there are some really neat videos out there. Anyways, I remember in grade six, our school had a slot car club. They had an entire classroom devoted and even had a drag strip for 1/24th. Cars did wheelies and everything. The brushes were on a hinged thing that allowed them to get the juice they needed. I went there every lunch hour to watch them racing. Good times!

I think I have an old HO set out in the barn. I can take a look if you'd like.

There are several large tracks at various hobby shops around here. Pretty impressive, just like I remembered from a hobby shop in Salina, KS, in 1966.

The track here close about the time I was old enough allowed to go that far by myself.
No longer had to depend on the grown ups and poof! Gone. Broke my little heart SH^
Can you spot Micky Thompson's 4 Engine Challenger LSR with the 4 electric motors in it?

David quite a collection of cars you have there . I could not find any tracks in your neck of the woods.
What a shame I'm sure you would to love to run them.
Take a look at this list to see if you could find any worth the ride.
I wanted to post some pictures but I did not want to hijack the thread.
