odball fox 35 stunt
« on: November 19, 2024, 05:13:55 PM »
received this 50 anniversary fox 35 stunt still in the box .it it was gummed up so pulled the back plate off and it looked like a 29 crank in it with a smaller counter weight . looking in the exhost the port was so narrow it looked like the sleeve was in backwards.there was no indication it had been taken apart ..i installed a 35 crank in it and put it back together ,it has great compression .has anyone seen a fox 35 with a narrow exhost port .normally they are cut back almost to he case.or this type crank in it RAD

A Randy Smith Hi Zoot crank  has a smaller looking counter weight. Previous owner may have changed it? Is it a standard iron piston? Iron liner? Can you send me a photo pf the crank? What does the sticker on the box say it is? Sorry for all the questions but I'm curious now also!

Dan I had this engine in my shop. It is definitly a Fox factory 29 stunt crank with the smaller counter weight. The P/L is also the factory iron and steel parts. The exhaust port was not cut  wide enough. Maybe it was a mistake or maybe they started doing them that way on the 50th?
