The weather was fantastic and so was the competition. The turn out was good for a holiday weekend. we used a different format for Expert then best flight of 2 official flights. We did 2 official flights added together to qualify for the top 5 shootout for the Gene Schaffer Memorial Cup. I thought it made for a very fitting way to determine the winner of the cup.
The winner of the Bob "Champione" Lampione Concourse de Elegance award was Tom Luciano's Crossfire.
I would like to thank the judges, tabulators, Stunt News reporter!, and Jose Modesto for supplying us with a great lunch! Here are some of the results and photo of the top 5.
I hope everyone had a great time!!!
Thanks
Joe

Had a great time. Thank you for all the effort you put in. A fun time was had by all. It was great to see some of the people from the past show up even if they did not fly, Andy Lee, Don Patterson, Ski Dombroski, and Bob Lampione to name a few. Ron Heckler and Kevin DeMauro are also not active at the moment but took the time to help us out and Judge. I'm sure I missed few others that I cannot think of at this moment.

So sorry Steve and I did not make it. At the last minute (4:00am!!) I got a message from Steve saying he had suffered a dental emergency and did not feel he was safe to fly us down in his full-scale plane. He had to seek out a dentist (on a Saturday!) to get fixed up. I hope we'll be able to come down to fly and hang out before the season ends.

Rick,
just let us know when you guys can get down here.
Thanks

It was great to step foot back in that park after 10 years and great to see a few familiar faces again. Hopefully i can stop by again this time with something to fly.
Amazing to see flights up close again.
