NW Regionals tentative date poll -- please respond
« on: April 27, 2020, 04:47:30 PM »
The dates of Sept. 18-19-20 have tentatively been selected for the new dates of the 2020 Northwest Regionals, to be held in Roseburg, Ore.

We are asking people who would normally attend the Regionals whether they will attend the contest it is held on these dates, given the need to postpone the traditional Memorial Day contest because of the COVID-19 virus.

A poll has been posted on the NW CL Forum (accessible via flyinglines.org) asking whether you would attend the contest on these dates.

If you are a regular Regionals attendee, or had planned to attend the Regionals this year, please go to the NW CL forum and respond to the poll.

After we see the results of this poll, we will either 1) go ahead with planning of the 2020 Regionals on Sept. 18-19-20 or 2) cancel the 2020 contest.

We await your response!

I'm not registered on flyinglines forum. I will say that Jim Aron's Meet'n'Meat and World Famous Fox .15 Hurl is usually the weekend before that.
And that is the weekend of the Reno Air Races. That would keep two of us Californians from Attending this year.

FYI, some have been unable to respond to the poll (not sure why) so an email to me will work, too.  johnt4051@aol.com

   John ,
What are the chances of having the NWRs in late September & retaining the Fall Follies as scheduled ?

The Raider Roundup is the week before. Should be a fun September.

Regarding the Sept. contest schedule:

Mike Potter says the Auburn site is currently being used for storing construction equipment, making both the Skyraiders upcoming contests (August and September) questionable.  The Skyraiders may have to revise their plans.

As to the Follies, currently scheduled for Oct. 2-4.  This is another Hazel/Thompson production.  We have not yet decided whether to go ahead with it, move it later, or scrap it.  Stay tuned.

Also, a reminder -- as of this writing on April 28, the Regionals plan for Sept. 18-19-20 is TENTATIVE, pending results of the poll, securing city permit, etc.  We hope to finalize the plan one way or another by May 4.

Hi John,

I heard a rumor that Meet N Meat down in CA is cancelled this year, and the Reno Air Races are cancelled so I hope NW is a go! You may get some extras from down here desperate for a chance to fly. I know I am.
