NVCL StuntFest coming up Saturday, September 25 in Northern Virginia

Just a reminder to everyone that our Annual StuntFest will be coming up very soon!  We have 2 nicely groomed grass circles and will be flying PA and Old-Time.

The event is held at 10207 Old Colchester Road on the Meadowood Special Recreation Managment Area in Lorton, Virginia.

Thanks to the rain we've had this fall, the flying circles and lush and green.  Plus, the Bureau of Land Management has mowed out a large area next to our regular parking area, so we have lots of room for parking.

Yes, just as in previous years Gerry will be bringing his grill.

Funny, we never knew they were there until Tim went and stirred them up....

Haven't seen them this year either, but Tim is coming over tomorrow for our judging/coaching clinic.  Maybe...?

I have seen a hornet or two flying around under the canopy; they like to go inside the holes in the support poles and build a nest.

We've been mowing the lawn (now twice a week with the rain) and instead of the brown that we had two years ago at our last Stunt Fest, we have nice green.  This will be a great surface to fly from.

Field was mowed today in preparation for StuntFest.  We will mow again on Friday and stripe the circles.  The grass on the circles is looking really good!
