A follow along question for those deeply contemplative moments might be, "do I have any good flying planes, or just a garage/basement full of old crap and half built orphans?"

Don’t give them my name for hoarders!
I enjoy being in denial even if I need to weave around all the planes that I don’t have room to put them on racks.

I am seriously contemplating loading up my trailer with several dozen planes or so to take to Brodak's and sell.  Everything from old Ringmasters to a Vector to a nice Bi-Slob and 1/2As thrown in.

So, to list the older ones, there is the Crossfire that I built in 2010 and refinished in 2013 after the dust devil incident at the Nats in 2011. Thanks again Brett and others for the help in putting that ship back together enough to finish the Nats (missed the Top 5 by one spot!); the Genesis Extreme that I built in 2001 (and it is still one darn fine flying model...), and the Classic Gene Schaffer Oosa-Amma. New are the Genesis LC (Last Chapter) with twin rudders, the Wildfire twin, the Turning Point twin (just needs the electronics installed), and a brand new Caprice that I built in anticipation of a trip to Tucson

I have plenty of planes. It is old ignition engines that I seem to never have enough. Many of them are in planes though. Some one asked me one time if I ever sold anything on e bay. I said sell?

I would do an inventory, but I'm not sure I'd find all of them.

Besides -- how do you count the broken ones, the chuck gliders made to find the CG of weird configurations, the broken chuck gliders, etc.?

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

How many?  I'm not exactly sure.  Last time I tried to look in my 20 X 20 "out-building",  I  couldn't get more than 2 ft. inside the door.  It was crammed full of airplanes

I have on hand what I have room to store, more or less.  Right now that is around five or six full stunt airplanes,  a couple profiles and a handful of smaller trainer-types.  These days when a new ship is in the build I start looking for those I really don't use and salvage what I can from them but otherwise trash them.  Some I have handed down to others.  Having always been a rabid builder for over 55 years I'm sure I've built close to two hundred airplanes-but who's counting?  What's bad is asking about a nice airplane some else has and finding out 'I' built it long ago and don't remember  it.  (more than once).

I have two planes ready to fly, my old classic airplane is engineless, my new one is being fixed, a new classic plane ready for finishing and a customer plane I need to finish. I also have parts to a profile. All told that’s 7 planes in the garage. I don’t have the space to keep much more than that so old airplanes are being sold off as new ones get built. All told I’ve built 19 total airplanes since 2005

I number each plane and put the completion year on it also.  My memory is not good enough to keep track otherwise

I started numbering mine.  To come up with the right number I had to take a trip down memory lane and at my age there are a lot of bridges out and detours but by restricting myself to PA planes I came up with 32.  Current fleet is 2.

Just last night I decided I should do an inventory. 4 Vectors (1 electrric), 3 Nobler, 1 each Smoothie, Thunderbird, Ringmaster, Voodoo + 7 other misc
Five additional projects to be completed. 14 kits not started + three short kits ( Impala, Claire Sieverling Mustang,  Box Car Chief). Back in the dark ages, I had one each Ringmaster, Profile Sterling Mustang, VooDoo, Sneeker, Quicker.

Between what's sitting in the vertical racks and hanging on the wall I've got 30 IC models of which any could be prepped and ready to fly within minutes. It's apparently too many as I have run myself completely out of proper storage for any more, hence my lack of building activity for quite some time here. Worse yet is I've got complete on hand "inventory" and materials for at least the next 15 to 20 builds, both with kits and from scratch. The desire is there, just not the time or space.  D>K

The others? I sold a lot of planes over the years, and even gave some away as well.

Bob Hunt

I’d like to get in line for the next time you’re giving away planes! 😆

I’ve always been a slow builder in general. Starting to build stunt planes is a new learning curve and my lack of confidence, knowledge and procrastination really drags out my builds. I started an RSM Pathfinder LE in January of 21. Still not done, but it’s getting close to final sanding before figuring out what finishing method to use.
