Title: Now How Come ? . . .
Post by: M Spencer on June 29, 2011, 07:43:59 PM
Isnt there a reg. in F@B about timers not being allowable to stop engines .

Do the Electric ones get around this calling them ' Motors ' .

Reading a few things on Four Strokes, saying ' irregular consumption ' makes timing run ( fuel Qty ) Difficult .

Now timers can be used for flashing lights , and retracts , and othe exciteing things.

These Electric blokes are all trying to convince us Elec is Vastly Superior to I.C.E.

So WHY should THEY get a allowance. They could wait till the battery runs flat .  :##

                                                     -------------

A lot of rules , one thing leads to another , with the relentless onward march of time .

Such as the ' .90 ' displacement limit.Originally to give 4 strokes parity. Once they got
them sorted out , THEY held an advantage. So '.90' , was made the limit across the board.

So one thing led to another.

WHERE are we with TIMERS .? goodenough for ALL ! ? HB~> LL~

No, that was done away with some considerable time ago. You can use timers.

keep up with the play Matthew - the rule changed in 2006 (from memory) so everyone can use timers - not just those of use who choose a cleaner way to fly

Ugh oh!

Matt
What are you up to now? Secret weapon?
I'm a watching you buddy! LL~

Looks lik SLC may go on the surfaces this weekend! #^
70oz still looks doable.

Measurements indicate the Rover V8 will not fit in the FW as well as it fit in the Norton.

Cleaner? No. Energy can neither be created or destroyed. The amount of fossile fuels required to charge your batteries, make your batteries and the toxic metals the batteries contain are far more environmentally unfriendly than you run of the mill IC model engine. Castor oil is made from plants don't you know, Nitro Methane is a modified natural product which leaves alcohol and that is a grain product. And IC engines don't arbitrarily burst into flames, releasing all sorts of toxic PCB's and heavy metals into the atmosphere either"

This is a myth, fuel consumption for a properly set up 4 banger isn't any more irregular than a piped two stroke. Timers for IC engines are a solution to a non existing issue.

That being said when you are using a hand crank pump and counting turns, make sure the fuel line between the pump and tank is full before you start counting. Lession learned on my first official at Brodaks this year.

come pick up my plane after a flight - but make sure you wipe the crap off them first.......my plane is CLEAN - i didnt say it was more environmetally friendly

BTW New Zealand energy is produced by Hydro and wind not Nuclear reactors, fossil fuel etc. and it would take more energy and plant destruction to make your fuel anyway........ so mine is cleaner in that respect also

LL~ Can ya'll say "hand launch glider"???  LL~ LL~  This of course assumes that humans are a source of green energy and produce our own methane fuels and hot winds. H^^

nice one Ty - how about rubber powered stunt..........
