Many have asked "Where is the Nov/Dec 2007 issue of Stunt News?" Well, it is presently being printed, assembled, and readied for mailing on December 10, 2007 from Pinney Printing in Clinton,IA. It is delayed because of the changeover from one printer to another, the late arrival of the PAMPA Ballot and the verification of the PAMPA Ballot results and subsequent publishing in the Nov/Dec 2007 Stunt News issue. All PAMPA members will be seeing it soon.

I'm getting the same story. Stunt News is the only thing I'm not getting. I'm thinking I'm not on the SN bulk mail list or something.

Bulk Mail is the lowest priority of mail and USPS gives itself up to three weeks to sort and deliver this stuff.
If you've ever been in one of the big facilities, you would see pallets of bulk mail waiting to be sorted. The supervisors generally wait until they have enough to do a full shift, then they assign handlers and crank up the flat sorting machines.
I was one of the people who certified the USPS Year 2000 compliance effort and the amount of mail each facility gets is incredible. The USPS does a great job of sorting and delivering and they will try very hard to repair and deliver First Class mail, but if your bulk delivery Stunt News gets damaged going through the sorters, it's probably tossed.
Take care,
Ron

The USPS along with the weather man are popular kicking dogs. They can do a perfect job 100 times and no one thinks anything about it, but make one mistake and everyone remembers it. It is often said that the postal workers are lazy and some of them are, but there is lazy construction workers, factory workers and bank presidents and on and on.............. All in all the postal workers do a great job.

I do not now nor have I ever worked for the USPS nor has any of my relation and I don't even know anyone, very well, that does work for them.

S?P Maybe they are seeding the mail. LL~

Out of the some 1000 members out there, we are the only to members that are not getting issue after issue ? Yes you have contacted me, and still no issue each month. Done like you said and checked with mail service. Out of the 10-12 bulk mailings we receive this is the only one that never makes it here. 2 issues, never received anything. Last year same thing. I know you work hard on this, Got an envolope one month with 3 back issues and nothing since. Asked on both web site that most members seem to be on and was asked why you posted on the other web-site, now I was just wonder if a lot of people were have same problem. Wasnt aware there was a proper way of asking other then what I did. Also called and talked to both of you.

All I know is that Stunt News is mailed directly to the members by the publisher who was located in VA.. Said publisher was not printing all the copies for mailing at once as was thought. He is no longer the publisher. The next issue will come from a new printer in Iowa. Hopefully, this will be a much better set up than before, with ALL members receiving thier copies sooner.

Thanks much for the update Tom, I was about ready to get on the horn myself.
I sincerely hope that this new printer will be much more dependable, so as to rid you volunteers, and also the rest of the membership of these problems. Honestly, I have contemplated renewing or not simply because of the constant extended delivery times. I feel strongly that the standard membership fee should be good for the same postal service for every continental U.S. member, even if it has to go up slightly. As you PAMPA officials are aware, I am not one of the "celebrity" Stunt competitors, so my opinion likely doesn't carry much weight, but I enjoy the hobby, and recieving my Stunt News, as much or more than anyone else.
Again, I sincerely hope service gets better for all members, and also easier for the volunteers that make it happen. H^^

Tom, I got a copy of the Sept/Oct SN. Thanks very much for sending it.

One of the reasons for going First Class. The amount of junk mail I throw in the trash is something to be seen. I guess PAMPA is not as big as Home Depot, Lowes and a few others. DOC Holliday

I hope everyone understands that PAMPA is comprised completely of volunteers, and as such does not have a 24/7 staff to stay in constant contact with the publisher/printer. The person who WAS printing Stunt News was not doing what was understood. This was finally caught and has been dealt with in the inly wat possible: Fired and a new one found.
This set up should work to everyone's advantage.
BTW: 99% of PAMPA is NOT the upper echelon pilots in CLPA. PAMPA, and Stunt News really works to make everything *good* for all members. I have personally learned this over the past couple of years as a District Director.
The simple fact that someone takes over a job to produce a newsletter of the magnitude of STUNT NEWS for no payment is admirable. But, said people do get the privilege of being slammed for their donated efforts!

Hi Tom,
Given the big difference between First Class mail and bulk mail delivery, how is the new "SN-DVD only membership" DVD going to be mailed?
Thank you for all the hard work you, and your family, do for us!

Tom,
I got my STUNT NEWS yesterday and I'm in the Chicago area. Mine comes by bulk mail so I was very impressed by the speedy delivery. The quality of the colored pictures and black/white type was significantly better than the previous printers work. My hat is off to you Tom, your staff, and to Russ & Randi for making it possible to enjoy this great publication. H^^
Happy Holidays.
