Have a look: http://amrca.com/
There are three tracks in the USA:
Anderson, Indiana
Seaford, New York
Whittier Narrows, California
Anderson is just south of Muncie. There is a fair amount of cross over from Control-line Speed. They usually have a contest the Saturday at the end of the Control-line Nats.

Yeah but the old 60 ignition powered cars are much cooler. Not as fast, but the cool factor was there. I think they still run some in California. Maybe at Anderson also. If the cars were not so expensive it could be a lot of fun. Old original tether cars go for $1,000's. Repro's are available, but also expensive. I believe there was a track in Salina Ks. at one time.

Man I like the track racers, looks like this is where all of the women, ( now grandmothers ) are at... Looks like a better spectator sport than tether,

Here's one where two guys are racing while holding handles in the center of the circle ala Rat Racing.

I can see why this didn't catch on.

Have been to the track in Anderson and those guys put a lot of work in their cars. The day we were there they were having tires coming apart. At one time there used to be a circle in KCMo. My brother Bob had a big red car that looked like a sprint car that was McCoy 60 powered. Just like the speed planes if you take your eye off them you may not see them going round and round.

All so cool. My X wife used to complain that I was always building those "aeroplanes". I told her if it wasn't them I'd build something else, boat, cars, trains SOMETHING because that's what keeps me sane (or so it seems in my mangled mind).
