HURRICANE....PLEASE, PLEASE!
A Stunt capable corsair?
Don's done the Corsair, with flaps even, and the plan also has variation options that include the F2G bubble top/corncob version. Hard to say what he's got up his sleeve here as he's already done all of the most desirable/obvious stuff. He's telling us it will be slow going but once Don decides on a design and get's that pencil going things usually happen pretty quickly. I'll bet it's not the Hurricane though because Don's focus has always been U.S. designs. I could see it being the F4F Wildcat just because it's one of the few WWII fighters he hasn't done. I don't recall a P-40 in Don's cache either? A BT-13 would be pretty cool to see, a design I've many times considered drawing up myself. Another obscure but very cool model would be the F3F bipe. But, if it's another multi-engine design...?
Pt 19 / pt 23 ?
B-17 for 4 Norvell .061 and I'm all in..
Me Too...Absolutely perfect! Shades of Mr Walker in miniature! It's the only thing that could convince me to hassle with 1/2 A's!Further more, I actually have 4 of those things NIB! Randy Cuberly
That was too easy! Dan Berry was the first to mention the Wildcat so he will get a copy as soon as I get the drawings into PDF files. It is coming along fairly well but I am tweaking the airplane a bit more than I like to do to be sure it will fly well, but to the "casual observer" it will look real good! Will also have the FM2 rudder shown.
Of course, the F5F wouldn't need any special considerations for designing complicated landing gear.... (The first, short-nosed version, of course...)
I didn't really expect Don to bite on this one, but the good news is Pat Johnston did and is currently working on it [in his spare time]. He admitted he had personal interest for himself, but his will be e-power. That's not enough of a challenge for me..
Scott, Are you aware of Walter Umland's full fuse F5F Skyrocket offering? I tried to check but his site is currently down, if I recall correctly though it's based on the Jack Sheeks design.
I'm getting too old to ever get around to i
Dennis:I'm concerned that you say I checked your profile and I am 4 years younger than you, but I take about 5 years to build a plane. So, does that make me too old too?
When it's ready, why not just go with Pat's and redraw your own engine nacelles for IC? It'll be a profile so the change would be a cinch. All one would have to do is copy Pat's nacelle outline and then draw in the mounts for your IC engine of choice, easy peezy. Maybe Pat could even include this detail on his plans?
That's what I was planning to do if Pat doesn't provide for both power options in his plan.
Yeah Me Too! If I can fit it in to the schedule!Randy Cuberly
I'll donate a brand new can of Brodak Olive Drab to the first one who shows us his ready-for-paint B-17.
It would be a whole lot easier for you to ship me the paint than me bring the B-17 to you..
