Title: NOT Model Aviation but REALLY Interesting
Post by: Robert Zambelli on September 07, 2008, 12:31:57 AM
Last weekend, a vintage event was held at Darlington Speedway.
I had never been to a NASCAR type track but I was invited by a local member of the Ferrari Club so I decided to check it out. Turns out, we even got privilege parking on the parade field as well as participation in parade laps.

What really impressed my was the incredible variety of restored and original NASCAR and USAC (Indy) type racers. And these guys not only ran them on the track but some were really pushing.

This link,

will take you to the site, showing many photos from the event.
You may have to join ferrarichat (free and easy) to view them but it's really worth it.
I'm sure many of you will recognize the various cars in the photos.

There are many similar car clubs who have "track days" for their members, and they have been doing it for a long while.  I think it's great!  Thanks for the link, brings back memories of days with the Cobra Owners Club in the 1970s.
