Hmm... Not CL, and very said... Why did I click this? :-\

Just curious as to how old this article is. It mentions the girl was enjoying "Easter Vacation" and that is in April. ??? Of course it does not take away the fact the RC model got out of control. Notice the owner was not flying it, but a friend of his. Tragic regardless. D>K
I used Google on it , 2003

...When EddyR posted it on June 14, 2004 it was pointed out by Jim Roselle that it was originaly from 2003. Still tragic. John

What's up Randy, slow day at the office?
I remember some dumbshit in Orlando had a bad run on his stunter and yelled to his girlfriend to run out and catch it. He did a wingover right into her eye socket! It was sad, and a long time ago, since it was Larry Barrickman that told me the hideous tale.

This was posted June 14, 2014, posted by EddieR. I guess it must have happened around last Easter.

Wow really, the article was dated 24 FEB as reported, guess you can't go by those either.

Yeah, slow for sure, this looked like a new story to me but I've been proven wrong. My only purpose was to bring it to everyone's attention. it doesn't make any difference what the discipline, the general public sees it as toy airplanes, period, and things like this make them inherantly dangerous to the public. It's just like the misconception about guns. We need to be able to counter this sort of thing credibly because like it or not, if something like this happens here with an RC model, we'll still be guilty.

Sad for sure. Maybe the good news is that some anti model aircraft activist had to dig so far back to find a sad story to whip up model airplane resentment.
