Not C/L but thought some might be interested.

As  side project I am in the process of building a 1/3 scale SE 5 (Eberhardt version).  The SE 5 was one of the earliest planes to use a hinged stabalizer for pitch trimming. So in an effort to play to the judges, I came up with the mechanism pictured below.

Neat looking mechanism, Phil. What's the total movement of the stab LE?

John,

I made it the same as the full scale.  +5 to -2 degrees.  Got it from a set of original rigging instructions.  However on the full scale SE5, the stab LE is fixed and the TE moves up and down via a jack screw linked by cable to a hand wheel next to the pilots seat.  That's why I put the actuator on the rear stab spar and hinged the forward spar.

My own version of the Fokker EIII was R/C.  In an effort to be more scale-like, the empennage was all-flying, and the wing panels pivoted, from steel bars and tube.  It was published in a magazine (the one newspaper-sized).
