Not CL, but pretty fun
« on: December 07, 2012, 12:46:39 AM »
I've been playing with toy airplanes since I could walk( I have super 8 home movies to prove it) and through the years its gone from rubber power, hand launch gliders, control line, RC gliders, power RC and back to Control line.
But lately I have been re-living my childhood through model airplanes. Dozen of CL kits from the sixties and seventies and all of the American Junior, Northwest, Testors, Guillows and Jetco rubberpower planes and gliders
Check these out and see if they dont bring back memories.

Looks Great!  I wish I could do same. Being retired I don't find much time to reach out!  ~>

Sounds great when someone breaks out of the "You must do it this way" shell.

Enjoy!

You can build a simple hand launch glider using scrap wood and a couple evenings work.  Nothing teaches you about how real airplanes fly better than a hand launch glider.

What memories! I still remember a glider I loved, the wings folded back and you launched it using a rubber band sending it 60-70 feet up. When it slowed the wings came back out and it glided down, often on someone's roof. I think it was an "A.J. Walker" thing.

That would be the American Junior Interceptor 404
There is one on the bottom right in the picture.

I'll second that!
