PAMPA Web Site Update
« on: October 31, 2012, 03:05:28 PM »
All;

The PAMPA web site is up and running, but there is a lot of finger pointing going on between Internet Service Providers as to why it is being blocked.  If you can not get to the site, I strongly urge you to contact the tech support for your ISP and ask why access to domain control-line.org associated with IP address 216.10.246.91 is being blocked and what they are doing to fix it.

In the interim, for those who wanted to get the Sep-Oct 2012 "Stunt News", I have it loaded on another server in the Atlanta, GA area, for direct download.  Please contact me via email and I will send you the link.

My apologies for the inconvenience.

Came up fine for me . . . I use Comcast, I don't know if there was a problem with them or not.

Bob - For giggles I ran the PAMPA ip you listed on http://www.blacklistmaster.com/check to see if we have been blacklisted. According to them, yup, our server is blacklisted at three services. AT&T probably subscribes to one of them, hence blocking us.

This was the report result:

Listings of 216.10.246.91
b.barracudacentral.org - Barracuda Reputation Block List
dnsbl.sorbs.net -  SORBS Aggregate zone
IP.v4BL.org v4BL.org - (D. D. N. S. B. L.)

You will have to fill out forms and petition these services to take us off their lists. Someone probably was using the server that hosts PAMPA as a jump point to blast out some spam or DOS attack...  HB~>

Happened to me once when I ran the website too. ISP washed their hands of this: "We have closed offending account". Lotsa emailing to get the side cleared. It happens with any ISP unless you go with "dedicated" IPs but for that you need to add two zeros to your monthly bill. Not an option for PAMPA.

Don;

This is just a JPG file of the cover.  The location of the web site where the mag is actually stored for downloading has become inaccessible to some members.  Why it is being blocked is the mystery.  I doing a lot of research and with the help of the members who are not getting through, the problem is focused around a blockage in the routing to and from the web site.  It is literally one hop away.  The mystery is why the packets can not make that last hop to the PAMPA web site for those who can not get access, and will by those who can get through.

Well Bob,

It also will not load for me. I'm using Chrome on Frontier DSL and the site just sits there spinning. Might timeout eventually but I'm too lazy to wait for that.

Hi Bob,

No problem, it looks like you have them on the mend. I ran the black list check again, and it appears you have cleared our IP address from all but one remaining black list service: v4BL.org (D. D. N. S. B. L.)
They may not be popular enough of a service to give us much trouble, at least with AT&T it doesn't appear to be an issue. You may still chase it just on principal.

Good job! I know it's a PITA... been there, done that...

Oh yeah! Working now.

The site has been up, just there was a break in the linkage for some users.

I would ask those who have had trouble getting through to the PAMPA website to check again.  If you still can not get through, please let me know via email your ISP.

I am still working with v4BL.org.

The problem may well be related to the password reminder function.  Certain ISPs always kick it back, and may well be interpreting it as SPAM.

PITA is a mild understatement.  Thankfully, we have some very smart members who were helpful in resolving the problem from all sides, who provided me with information from their systems that was absolutely essential in getting the electrons to flow.  My appreciation goes out to all who helped and who patiently stood by.

If members are still having trouble getting through, please let me know via email - and let me know who your ISP is.
