What kit?

I’m looking to purchase a new competition .60 size kit. Looking for opinions on kit quality, ease of build, included hardware and of course flight qualities.
I have been very happy with the flight performance of my 2 SV11 ARFs, one glow, one electric. I’m currently leaning towards one of the Aero Products kits. Just not sure which one. I know if the SV11 kit flies at least as good as the ARFs, I’ll be happy there. Esthetically, I liking the Dreadnought but with the semi-ellipticalish wing, not sure what build complications that may bring.
Whatever I build will be a piped setup. As soon as I get my building board setup, I have a Pathfinder LE kit to get started on. Then this new kit I’m looking to get.

Don't really know what you like except it must be 60 size.  Go to the Venders corner and browse the different manufacturers.

Contact Walter and tell him what you want.  Great person to work with.   His kits are the best you can buy.  Right now he  is having balsa wood supply problems.

I'd call Tom Morris and ask about the best price he would give me to frame a MaxBee. He's already done a few.

With a kit, by the time the smoke clears, just with assembly alone, you could be well into the finish on the MaxBee.

What's your time worth? I'm guessing hear but I'll bet Tom's framed MaxBee would only cost a few hundred dollars more than a kit. In that range.

Unless building means a great deal to you?

Some may think they are great looking planes but they don’t do anything for me. If I’m going to spend $$$, it’s got to be something I like to look at. Don’t know anything about this plane. Just ran across this pic. This styling is what I like.

I can't tell exactly what that one is but it comes from the 70's when the 'jet style' was hot.  There were quite a few that looked a lot alike and were good flying ships.  I'm not sure of any like that made today but you you could plan build something.  Most of these though were designed for the .35-46 size range and might be a little small for your .60.  Yes I know a lot of top airplanes with big engines aren't much bigger these days but you should already be fairly proficient before you go that route.  You could simply find plans to one of these jet-styled airplanes you like and take them to Fedex Kinkos or whatever and scale them up 3-5%.  If you want a kit though I'd say Randy's Dreadnought is hard to beat and looks fairly simple to build.  Don't let those tips worry you-it's mostly a straight-edged wing with rounded tips and shouldn't be a great challenge. Yes the jet styling is what I really like. Probably because I used to look at them at the Nats back in the 70’s and 80’s when I was flying combat. I was kind of thinking about a little restyling of an SV11 to sorta resemble the jet style.

I’m building a Dreadnaught. It is no more complicated then any other wing. Randy Smith has designed it really well for construction. Go for it.
