Doing up a 57 Green Box Nobler. I am leaning towards a new Dixon "Right Stuff" Tower 40 for power. A Brodak 40 and Fox 35 are still options at this time. With the narrow fuselage does anyone make a 4.5 oz metal uniflow tank that will fit this design. Or have people been using clunk tanks?
Of those, I would strongly suggest the Brodak 40, followed by the Fox. The problem with either the Brodak or the Tower/Dixon motor. is that you might have some trouble fitting it in. But if you do, I think the Brodak motor will provide the best performance.
Making your own tank is pretty easy, but there are people making narrow tanks that will fit. I would also note that the tank shown on the GreenBox plans *doesn't fit*! It's just a little too wide. You have to relieve the doublers a bit (easy since they are balsa) or make it narrower. Other than that, stretching it 3/4" should give you plenty of capacity. You can plumb it for uniflow and the shape actually works pretty well.
