No NATS for me
« on: July 12, 2014, 08:49:13 AM »
Last minute change necessitated me cancelling trip to the NATS. I was so looking forward to seeing old friends, discovering the beer bush, judging amazing flying.  HB~>

To my friends that are going: may your flights be amazing!

And after all those rules questions, too.

I hope the issue is merely irritating, and not dire.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

You did well to op out.  I wasted three days of my life and some money I can afford to lose.  Most of the day today was wasted for a rainless rainout.  The field was shut down at 11:30 for a predicted weather event that nevr happened.  If we cancel flying for predicted not real rain, we will never be able to fly.

CL Scale had 23 people and 50 event entries.  The ED managed to bum out a record number of paying customers.

Wow, sounds beyond unacceptable. Also sounds like someone needs the boot.

You sure it was for rain and not static.   I remember a couple of years when we shut down because of static electricity.  The other times was for a funeral at the cemetery.
