Hello,
I know nitro methane has a pretty low ignition point and burns slower than alcohol or gasoline but does it's burn create higher cylinder temperatures? In other words, will 15% nitro generate more engine heat than 5%? Perhaps burning the high number of oxygen molecules in nitro causes lots of heat if high temps are the case.

HI Joe
The answer is yes and NO. IC engines turn heat into energy, When you go up to 15% nitro from say 5% you get much more availible power. If and this is the "if" when you lean the motor out to make much more power then "YES" your engine is running hotter.
Now for the "NO" , in reality for most stunt flyers, when you go up on nitro you most always tend to richen the needle\misture, so you have more power availble but you are running the motor with a much richer mixture, thus the engine does NOT run any hotter, matter of fact many times the engine runs cooler on higher nitro because of the increased rich mixture.
This is one of the reasons you see many people using 15% in a FOX 35, the can get a nice fat run without having to push the engine hard
