Wayne....God looked with favor upon his humble modelers and gave us a great day. What can I say? We're blessed.

Here are two more pix I just got from Rich Kacmarsky.
Jeff--yeah it was fun but we didn't do you a favor by inviting you..............you did us a favor by coming. y1

We had wonderful conditions for the annual Minneapolis Piston Popper New Years' "Frozen Fun Fly" today too. In preparation for todays festivities Keith Sandberg and Tony Kubes had gone out to our field on Thursday afternoon to plow a circle. It was about 25 degrees with a fairly heavy rain while they were out there plowing through the 2 to 3 foot deep wet slushy snow that was covering the field. Today, we all got there about 11:00am and it was maybe 5 degrees above with a mild 18-20mph breeze, gusting to better than 25. The slushy field and snow was rock hard everywhere. Engine starting for everyone (except one "wussy" electric flier  ;D) required a steady stream of ether sprayed into the intakes while running the electric starter at full tilt. Needless to say, pattern points were down a bit on this day. :##

But, like they say, still better than a day at work! y1

Randy,
It was a bit on the breezy side and I was quite happy that Jim and I got the Flitestreak up and down in one piece.  Jeff Traxler seemed to be having a good time with his 24 ounce electrified Ringmaster on 52 foot lines.  He flew the most out of the crew.  It was good to get together with the group and break rice at the Chinese buffet.  It might have been a good for you with the Shoestring.....

Yeah, I had it all ready to go too, but I'm not so apt to go out if the weather looks unfreindly. I get cold below 75, so even in the 50's I'd have been uncomfortable. Glad you guys had a good day!!!

Frank,
Looks like you, John Paris, and friends were having fun. The Chicagoland Circle Cutters had several intrepid birdmen at our annual January 1st field event despite 20°F cold and 25-35 mph winds.

Good times Frank!!!

Ah don't worry about Dennis, he is close enough to those Cheezehead guys that they don't need no stinking winter coats. Just a mild wind breaker. LL~

Frank,
"Tuff" or some might say "Foolish"  n~. Anyway, this coming Sunday, January 9th, is our first club contest at the flying field. It is a 75 mph combat contest that is aptly named the "Frozen Finger" contest  #^.
