North Florida (St. Augustine area) was not so lucky. It started raining before sunrise and did not quit until late afternoon plus the wind blew hard all day. Now they say we are going to have several mornings with below freezing temps. It is 33 right now. Time to stay inside and try to keep my feet warm.
At least, we don't have any of the white stuff.

Ain't nobody in Tulsa flying, we had 6 inches of snow on Christmas eve, another couple inches just before the New Year and suppose to get another couple inches next week. This is very unusual, normally if we get snow it's gone in a couple days, looks like this stuff will be with us for at least another week.
This whole year has been really strange, summer wasn't as hot, more rain than normal and now snow that is breaking all kinds of records. Really looking forward to March..

Global cooling???? Naw Al Gore couldn't stand it.

Bob, most Vermonters, except me were complaining there was barely any snow at the beginning of December, not enough to even be measured. We could see the grass up until a couple days ago, and now we got a winter storm warning through Monday morning.
What about Global Warming now?!? And for the guys out in the midwest having that EXTREMELY cold spell, stay warm.

Rub it in Dennis. I recognize Chuck F. and Roy T., the guy in the middle I think I met the last day I went to the field. Where's Toby A.? If only I had been born richer instead of so good looking. Tell everybody old DOC day HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Yesterday, when we flew in Minnesota, it was 2ºF. Too bad we didn't fly today - it was "only" NINETEEN degrees colder... n~

Had a hard freeze last night here in central Florida, put up my first flight of the year today... engine fired up, didn't touch the needle, tached right on and put up a flight. Brrrrr! Felt like I was at the King Orange... poor Paul Sequira launching me looked a bit chilly behind the prop blast of my PA61 turning 10K. Sorry Paul, but thanks, I needed to sneak in a little stick time!
Look forward to seeing everyone at the KOI. I'm hoping this means we are getting our annual Arctic blast over with early this year and will have an unusually warm contest day! H^^
