New Year a great start
« on: January 02, 2013, 11:35:31 AM »
OK this is the 2nd and I visited the LHS. Got my new supply of CA. Then I noticed something on the dope rack. Four bottles of the red label Aerogloss in Metalic Green. I put them on the counter and the owner gave them to me because he didn't know if they where any good because they are so old. Of course I thanked him. So tell me what thinner do I use?

I've used both Sig and Brodak thinner with Aero Gloss with no issues.

I have some Aero Gloss colored dope that's free to a good home.  Gordan Delaney demanded that I take it the last time I freeloaded at his house.  I don't think it's worth shipping, but I'll take it along to a contest.  If I knew Chuck was going to be in McMinnville, I could  have taken it to him

Howard,

Is it the red label or orange label. The Orange label is a problem. The dope I have is the old original red label. I will try thinning it with DuPont 3608. If I ever get out to Washington Oregon again I will post it. Kind of a long trip. Let me know what dope you have and anyway. Who knows?

Back in the old days we used AeroGloss or testors and there was no problem with fuel proof. I guess the EPA got in the act and ruined everthing.

The stuff I have is red label.  Is is now and always was soluble in nitromethane.  It never was fuel proof.  Neither was Testors.

If I was a drinking man of alcoholic beverages I would join  you.  But, remember this Red Label does not make good dope thinner.  Unless you are the dope it is thinning.  LL~ LL~ LL~
