Title: New Year's Day Flying....2017
Post by: peabody on December 26, 2016, 02:29:36 PM
Continuing a tradition that Tom Niebuhr blames on Larry Scarinzi, I will be at the MCRC field in Ellenton, FL on January 1st to usher in 2017. If you're in the area, come join me!

The GSCB plans the same, in Lincoln Park, NJ

Bring that nasty fruitcake someone thought you would love, or stale cookies...
Great fun!

NW Fireballs will have an official fun fly on Jan 1  at the Jim Walker field (Delta Park,  Portland Oregon).   A few members will also fly at midnight Dec 31st using night lights.  Here's a photo from last year with airplanes flown by Jim Cameron, Ron Anderson, and Pat Chewning:

I haven't heard from the TOPClass Club yet since they don't have a place to fly on New Years eve going into the New Year.   I imagine New Years day will be at the circle by the RC field.  Would have to skip Church to go though.

We had a good turnout at the GSCB field the weather was nice in the mid 40's and a lot of flying was going on under a sunny sky. This is definitely my favorite thing to do every new year ! T.J.

Would love to know how you get those planes to light up like that.

I managed to get in two flights with my Shoestring at the Burlington Model Airplane Club breakfast. The second picture is the first flight of 2014.
