We also have a bridge with an 11'8" clearance. It has been hit so many times that I don't think anyone remembers how many times. It has been alleviated by a series of overhead soft drums at that height place about 1/4 mile from it with a LARGE WARNING of your impending predicament if you don't take the side road and go to the bypass. Now it only has trucks getting stuck infrequently and they are generally driven by people who have limited skills in the english language.

Pretty funny, but I wonder how many vehicles will be destroyed before the city raises the bridge. Some of those trucks arn't all that tall. For Pete's sake, the city bus couldn't even fit under it!

HAHAHAHA There was a trestle near my business years ago like that and a Cadillac dealer in the area and some construction on the normal route to deliver cars on car haulers, you can imagine the rest!

There is a railroad overpass in KCMo like that.   Has warning signs on all areas of the bridge telling of the height limit.  But, one driver thought he was okay and slowed down to go under.  Needless to say he  got stuck.  Couldn't back up or go forward.  Then a young scholl told him he could solve his problem.  The driver said okay do what ever you think it will take.   The young lad proceded to let half the air out of all the tires.   The thanked him and drove on to the nearest station to pump the tires back up.
