The first kit run is sold out. I am now taking orders to be put on the waiting list for the second kit run
The Ringmaster fly-a-thon is in October which gives you two months to get your new Ringmaster built and ready for this world wide event. It has been a long time since I have done this but after consulting with Eric Rule at RSM Distribution, I have come up with a special that I do not think you will want to pass up. In celebration of this event, we are going to introduce the NEW RSM ULTRA LITE OTS Ringmaster kit. This kit can be built for an electric motor and system of your choice or a glow engine if you like the smell and feel of the slime, and yes, it is OTS legal.
This kit will utilize the very light construction of the wing that RSM has always offered and the difference in weight will be in the way the fuselage is constructed. The fuselage will be constructed from two pieces of 3/16 balsa that have been lasered out to eliminate weight and then sheeted with two laser cut pieces of 1/16th balsa on each side. In effect giving you a built up ultra-lite fuselage. This is still the full size Ringmaster that has always been offered by RSM but will weigh in much lighter than the solid ½” board fuselage. This is a FULL KIT, not a short kit.
Please go to my section in Vendors Corner for the pricing. I have posted complete information and pricing there.
This link should take you direct to GRIFFINS MODEL SERVICE where this information is posted:

I have built a couple "authentic" Ringmasters using my own ultra-light construction. No external changes, so still OTS-legal.
The last one weighed 17 oz. with an OS 15. The construction did not survive maneuvers. After attaching the outboard wing (again!), it was 19 oz.
While the typical Ring will weigh 25+ oz. and fly quite well, getting weight closer to 20 oz. makes a large difference in the plane's response, especially in corners. The light weight allows use of the smaller engine.
My plans for Ring-Lite have been offered here on this site, and I have sent many. I again offer plans and for free.
