Sorry new user and I am having trouble adding pictures to my posts. I don't think that "attachments" are enabled for me, but I can't figure out how to enable it.
Thanks

Glenn, it could be that the pictures you are trying to upload are to large for this server. Try resizing your pictures smaller.

Attachments have to be less than 1,000kb. It used to be that you could only attach 10 pictures with a total of 1,000kb per post, but IIRC, the number of pictures may have been changed...as long as they total under the 1,000kb.
It happens that I just took some pictures today, and they came out of my (Nikon) digital camera at roughly 4.4MB each. I have used IrfanView to rework them by cropping, resizing and compressing to post them. At this point, I'm not sure how big they are, but likely around 100 > 200kb. I'ma gonna post them in the "What did you do in the shop today" thread. ;D Steve
Edit: The largest of the 4 came out at 119kb and is 800 pixels wide. Much over that width and you may need to scroll back & forth to see the whole width, which nobody wants to do! Some have been posting pictures that never get over 330 pixels wide, which just isn't big enough to see anything. People use various ways to get their picture down to size, most of which don't yield a predictable result, IMO. I have tried to use Olympus and Canon software and couldn't figure out how to make it work. My brother suggested IrfanView, and in a few minutes had figured it out...all by myself. Therefore, IMO, it's superior to both Olympus and Canon software. The pictures I posted were taken with a Nikon, and I never even considered trying Nikon software! IrfanView is "Freeware", so the price is affordable...it's FREE! I got it off the TuCows download site. You have to download the one appropriate for your computer, so watch that. Others will be along shortly to tell you how they do it. Which is minimally useful and mostly confusing.

What did I tell ya? I watched Tim's video twice and didn't understand a WORD. Total waste of time, except for the link to StuntHangar and that old thread. mw~ Steve

I am an Aerial Photographer in an aircrew with the Civil Air Patrol. We use two programs to process pictures before we upload them to the customer, who is usually FEMA. IrfanView is the first program we run the pictures through to remove haze and resize. Then we use RoboGeo to Geo Tag the pictures.
I will echo what Steve said above, IrfanView is freeware and the best we have found to use in the first step of processing pictures. I highly recommend it and with a little practice, it is very easy to use.

I access SH through my computers only. I rarely use my cell phone for anything but pictures, lots and lots of nice BIG pictures, 2-3mb.
It takes me about 15 seconds to make one ready to post after I download a batch to the computer.
1. Open the picture in Paint.
2. Click on "resize"
3. Resize to 25%
4. Click on "select" and outline what you want.
5. Click on "Crop"
6. "Save As" whatever you want to call it.
I just tested it on a 3.8mb picture that is now SH ready in literally 10 seconds (already downloaded) at 204kb that will expand for viewing just fine.
One other suggestion - when you save it in Paint, set up a folder just for SH. The "browse" for the SH attachments will go to the last place you saved something.
