What prevented me toward general aviation was the high cost of entry for someone not having IMO the wages to support. Modeling is considerably cheaper. Looks like it would make an interesting subject to model in CL or RC.

Everyone tries to invent the next "flying car".
This ones a FAIL due to the skinny tires and exposed prop blades only inches from the pavement. (potholes, road debris)
The wheelbase alone would cause you to avoid city traffic and most public parking.
Very limited use...  No thanks.

My thinking on the expopsed prop baldes would be a government declaration of safety issues that would ground it forever.  However, the success of even this one flight is astonishing considering all the contraptions utilized in the folding of the wings, etc.  Fascinating, to say the least.  I'd stick with my Skyhawk!

   I think I have seen just about all of the attempts at this over the years, and it's kind of a relentless pursuit of a solution for which there is no problem! To make a dual purpose vehicle that is a decent car, it becomes a terrible airplane, and to try to make it a decent airplane, it becomes a terrible car! The closest thing to any kind of success in my opinion was Molt Taylor's Aerocar. They even made a toy version of that one, and wish I had one of those in my collection of stuff. The Taylor Aerocar was even featured on a TV show, "Love That Bob" with Rob Cummings back in the late 50's or early 60's. They have an real nice example of one (along with an accompanying N.I.B. toy version) at the EAA Museum at Oshkosh.I have seen a conversion for the old Ford Pinto also that looks presentable, but don't know how reliable that one was.

This plane's prop AFAIK doesn't operate until in plane mode, so I don't see a problem on the highway. Regarding use as a car, rather I'd think that instead of having a trailer and towing to the airport, one drives it. It's usefulness as a car is connected to flights, to and from. I suppose if you could afford this car-plane, you could also afford airport tie down fees and rental cars.

Personally I wouldn't want to use it on busy highways in large cities, good way to get it trashed in an accident. It looks like a nick item for those who already have everything, the 1%'s at the top of the food chain.

Looks like it was made possible by modern materials and electronics.  Don't know the cost but could be useful out west on a big ranch or oil field. It becomes the fly/drive to town car when you need groceries.
