I know most folks here dont like RC stuff, but im pretty amped about this one...
MQ-1C "Grey Eagle"
Wingspan: 56 ft.
Aspect Ratio: Reeeeeeeelly high
Length: 28 ft.
Maximum speed: 155+ kts
Maximum altitude: 29,000 ft.
Endurance: 30+ hr
Maximum GTOW: 3,200 lb.
Maximum payload: 1,075 lbs for Helfire and Viperstrike missles or additional sensors.
Training is 7 months down at Ft Huachuca, AZ (Cholla Choppers, here I come!!). No word yet where im headed after that (besides Afghanistan!). Pardon my bragging, but there are only 150 MQ-1C pilots Army-wide!

Congratulations !!
Remember an airplane is an airplane, regardless of the control system. I wish I'd been able to do something like that when I was in (USAF '81-'86).

Congratulations from the old DOC also. You are getting to do what most of us dream about. Thank you, to yourself and all the others in the armed forces that keep us safe. H^^

Congrats. and Thank you for serving!
That area of the country is pretty. If you get a chance visit Tombstone Az the old graveyard and the Bird Cage are bits of US history not to be missed.

Way to go Sean!!!
Maybe you can request a scaled down version and hook some control lines to it. LL~

Sean,
Proud of ya little brother. I was talking with your Dad the other day and he gave me the heads up on your advancement. It was good seeing you in Paducah. We're proud of you and all the others serving. Like I told you in the past, you got a much better deal than I did. When I was in the Army they handed me a M-16 and said jump in that hole LL~. Take care dude.

Wonder if thats the one I used to watch fly over me when I was boondocking on El Mirage lake bed.

That "Grey Eagle" would be real handy for patrolling our southern border, I'm thinking. THAT would be a great assignment, IMO. Congratulations on your advancement...and a big thank you for your service. Like I told you in Tucson, please tell all your Army buddies that I really appreciate what all y'all are doing. Chins up, heads down! y1 Steve

Thanks guys!
Steve last time I was posted down at Huachuca, Border Patrol was working on a UAV called the Hermes. I thought that I heard of one crashing, and maybe Lou Crane will jump in on this with more detail. Don't know if that particular program is ongoing.
The Minutement group have been building hobby-grade ISR platforms out of RC trainers and wireless home security cameras for some time now.

Sean,
You are in a very select group.
But we have to know. Will is do a stunt pattern?
